Multimedia Specialist
(UCP VIII Media Producer II)
The University of Connecticut's Office of University Communications seeks a multimedia specialist to work in a collaborative team environment writing, producing and directing audio, video and other multi-media programs to augment the University's electronic marketing and media communications efforts. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, providing highly skilled services in an area of media specialization, e.g. writes, produces and directs audio, video and other multimedia programs to augment and enhance the marketing/communications programs of the University; and serves a project leader for multimedia productions.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in the field of media and technology or related field and (3) years' professional experience in multimedia authoring and video production; ability to produce and direct high quality programs in two of the following areas: video, audio, multimedia authoring and web development; demonstrated skills in a major media specialization, such as multimedia authoring, videography, video editing or audio editing; demonstrated experience in the at least one of the following (or equivalent) video editing applications: Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas Pro 9.0, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Adobe After Effects; and one of the following audio editing applications: Audacity, Pro Tools, or Soundtrack Pro; and Adobe Flash Professional; demonstrated ability to generate program concepts and translate concepts into high quality effective multimedia programs; demonstrated knowledge of multimedia technology, including the ability to select and produce the appropriate outputs, such as online video or audio, DVD, or for a web platform; Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with University Communications staff and partners, as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in related field; knowledge of video production techniques including storyboarding and script writing, camera operation, lighting, logging, and editing; knowledge of audio recording, mixing, and production; familiarity with web accessibility guidelines (e.g., Americans with Disabilities Act), as well as copyright issues; web development skills, including HTML, JavaScript, or PHP; technical experience in video hosting solutions and streaming media solutions.
Candidates selected for an interview may be asked to complete a one-hour multimedia production assignment.
