Description

Mid-level software architect/developer with experience in distributed and enterprise software technologies. Experience in the design and development of software using current standards and technologies like XML, web services, web 2.0 is a plus. Position will have a near term focus on design and prototyping for systems that operate in (DIL) distributed intermittent, low-bandwidth environments. Design robust architectures to accommodate adverse network conditions utilizing standards and technologies for distributed development like Service Oriented Architecture, Web Services and XML Gateways. Develop algorithms for intelligent network decision-making to facilitate access to services over a distributed environment. Implement the architectures using the decision-making algorithms to prototype the distributed system for use in a test environment. Documentation and testing of all prototypes.


Requirements

Required: BS in Computer Science or related discipline. At least 5 years of software design and development experience. Experience with the design and development of software in distributed environments. Familiarity with service oriented architecture and web services. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Must work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Desire to learn. Desired: MS in Computer Science or related discipline. Experience with Web service standards (WS-Policy, WS-Security, etc) and XML Gateways.
